Pima Canyon Trail

Yesterday in between rain storms we decided to take advantage of the cool weather and hike a small bit.
We decided to go to the Pima Canyon Trail to see the amazing rainbow that nature was showing us and to see the city view.
About the trail itself.  There are two trail heads, the one we took is the Magee Rd entrance also called the Iris O. Dewhirst Pima Canyon Trail head.  you take Magee rd east till it ends to get to this entrance.
The trail is near homes so you must stay on the designated path ways and there are no dogs permitted.

We didn't do the whole trail because we were worried that another storm was going to come, it is monsoon season, and we were near a mountain that gets hit hard but the part of the trail we did walk was not to rigorous.  There were a lot of rocky areas but my kids could do it so I say that this is an easy trail for a nice hike.  Please note that we had rain and cloud cover but in normal Tucson sun style you should bring lots of water and wear sunscreen because there is not a lot of shade.

Simple Waterfall

This one isn't really a "hike" per-say.
This little dandy of a waterfall is found in Madera Canyon, near Green Valley, at the Proctor Rd turnoff.  If you head to the left towards the trail map there is a trail there.  Take that about .3 miles or till you can see the water to the right.  Head down toward the water and the stream heads to the right or west.  The top of the waterfall is right there!

You can climb down if you cross the stream and carefully follow the rocks down, it will bring you to the bottom of the stream.  Go back up stream and you will be at the bottom of the waterfall!

We just discovered this waterfall so I am not sure if this will be there in all seasons but it is in the winter time.
As you can see I take my family hiking with me at times.  My eight year old loves this small sized waterfall!
